Fixing crashes and improving stability in Outlook 2016
Is your Outlook 2016 crashing and freezing repeatedly? It is very likely that disabling Graphic Hardware Acceleration will improve the stability of Outlook for you immediately, as it did with me.
Here’s how to disable the feature:
1. First, open Outlook and click on the File menu on the ribbon at the top
2. Now click the Options
3. Click the Advanced link in the left-hand menu and scroll down to the Display
4. Now tick the Disable hardware graphics acceleration option and click OK
This incredibly simple change has completely removed any crashing or freezing in my Outlook 2016 client on Windows 10.
I can’t take credit for finding this solution. Fellow Office 365 MVP Paul Robichaux brought it to my attention last week when he, Tony Redmond and I were chatting last week about what was new in Office 365.
It doesn’t fix all problems, but hopefully, it will fix yours!
