"Sorry, something went wrong" error in Office 365

Microsoft Office 365 often throws a very unhelpful error message when trying to access various services using a web browser.

Here are some troubleshooting tips that may help resolve the “Sorry, something went wrong. An unexpected error has occurred.” problem within Office 365.

Clear Browser Cookies and Cache

Firstly, clear your browser cookies and cache and then try and sign in again.

Failing that, try using Office 365 in another browser to see if the problem still exists.

Check the Office 365 Known Issues

This error can be caused by a bug within Office 365. To see if you are affected by one of these bugs you should check the Office 365 Known Issues log.
