New Feature: Filtering on Licences in the Subscription Overview Report

May 17, 2016 by Emma Robinson

The latest enhancement to Cogmotive’s Office 365 Reports is a great example of why it is important for our customers to let us know what they need from their reporting suite. We love hearing feedback, and if there’s something you need, we want to know about it.
We have now added a new filtering option to the Subscription Overview Report in Office 365 Reports. Previously, the report showed you all licence subscriptions for your Office 365 environment – which would look something like this:
Filtering on Licences
Now, it is possible to view just the licences that you need using the ‘Licence Filter’ option located just above the table. In the past month, we had a couple of requests for this addition – one of which came from an organisation whose SharePoint Administrator needed to be able to view the licence information for that tool alone, and schedule it to be sent to them – so that they could see it without logging into the application. The filtering allows you to see the details for one licence type and its subscription, but the functionality could also be used to compare two or more licence types, or filter out licences that your organisation doesn’t use. Once you have selected all the licences you need, and generated the information you want, you can save the chart with your specifications – so you can return to the exact information you need, when you need it.
For an example of how this might be used, the image below shows a comparison between SharePoint Online Storage against Office 365 E3 licences, which is further broken down into its components.
We hope you find this addition useful. Cogmotive’s reporting solutions are dedicated to making IT administration easier through making your data more visible, accessible and manageable, so we encourage our customers to continue to let us know how we can make our tools even better.
