Microsoft Inspire 2018 for the First Timer – Part 1
Microsoft Inspire 2018
We’ll be attending Microsoft Inspire as a Gold Sponsor from July 15th to 19th at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center and T-Mobile Arena.
Microsoft Inspire is a unique opportunity to network, learn, and collaborate with thousands of partners, Microsoft personnel and industry experts at Microsoft’s largest partner event.
At Microsoft Inspire we’re located near the Partner Theatre at Booth #723 and have a lot to talk about and demonstrate this year, so come visit us and talk to us about how we can help you transform your business.
Who will be there?
Have you ever been invited to a party before with a new crowd and wished you could check out the guest list before you commit? It’s a bit like that at Inspire for newbies. You’ll want to know which partners are attending beforehand so you can make a plan of action for the event, but also find the most relevant connections. Microsoft provides an attendee list within the MyInspire tool, which is a simple way of determining who is going, their job role, sector, and areas of interest. This tool also allows you to reach out and book meetings with attendees.
Alternatively, you could always just scream and shout that you’re going to be there like Quadrotech has. We uploaded this video on our social networks as a light-hearted way of getting everyone excited and letting the Microsoft partner community know we’ll be there!
Let your LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook connections know you’re going – use the hashtags #MSPartner and #MSInspire for more visibility! There’s also a #New2MSInspire tag for first-time attendees to follow.
Wondering what to look out for when you’re there? Inspire 2018 is so much more than the keynotes and sessions, it’s an opportunity to network with others and have a bit of fun with your fellow Microsoft partners! Many sponsors have interactive activities at their booths, which is a nice way to unwind and get involved in some friendly competition after a long stretch of sessions or meetings.
Here at Quadrotech, we thought what better way to get tech-savvy people involved than a super addictive, retro space invader themed game where you’re attacking PST files rather than aliens? (laughing emoji) We did this on our Quadrotech stand last year and it was a huge hit at the event. You may have to get in line though this year, as our very competitive leader board drags people back again and again.
Make sure you keep your eyes peeled at Inspire 2018 for this year’s game – our daily winner will walk away with a pre-loaded Visa card!
Bull-ieve it or not
Past Inspire events have attracted over 18,000 partners from 140 different countries, so you’re going to want to look out for the showstoppers. Marketers at Inspire 2018 will quite literally do anything to get your social media post of the event!
Our company mascot is a little bull which represents our “No bull****” approach. A way in which we at Quadrotech want to get your attention this year is to put our favorite little mascot in some un-bull-ievably (sorry) cool, Vegas-themed outfits! We haven’t lost our minds, promise! As ridiculously silly as this is, we value meeting our partners and want to make the experience as memorable as possible. Here’s our bulls getting ready for the fun!
The best things in life are free
You can’t really go wrong with picking up some free mugs, chargers, notepads, bags, and even some little bulls at Inspire 2018! You’ll likely head home with enough merchandise to stock your stationery cupboard until the next one. Why not swing by Booth #723 this year to see what’s up for grabs?
Where can you find these wonderful freebies you might be thinking? You will find them in ‘The Commons’, an area described by Microsoft as “the heartbeat of the event,” which is where thousands of partners like yourself will collaborate, network, exhibit, and explore. This hive also provides free access to cutting-edge tech conversations driven by MVPs, partners, and other industry-gurus that you wouldn’t be able to see anywhere else.
Look out for Quadrotech’s own CTO, Paul Robichaux, who is speaking about “GDPR and Office 365: Surviving the Aftermath” on Monday 16th July at 12:30pm, session code: SPON08t. Below is a sneak preview!
Pin them down (not literally)
You’re really going to want to think about your must-see partners before you attend. As you know, Inspire 2018 will be flooded with partners, so if there’s someone you would really like to meet whilst you’re there, you might want to consider pinning people down. By that I don’t mean running and jumping on top of them and landing on all fours; I mean book some exclusive appointments in advance. As we all know, conferences can get a bit hectic. The best intentions to meet up can be overlooked – so make sure your meetings are in the calendar.
What if you have to cancel?
If you’re on the receiving end of a meeting invite and you just can’t make a partner meeting that you originally accepted (stuff happens), check in with the meeting organizer so you can reschedule while in Vegas. Remember, there are meetings times outside of the conference hours; sometimes a breakfast meeting, happy hour, or dinners are easier to schedule.
These meetings are an ideal opportunity to us to share updates on products, services, and innovations, and listen to partner’s strategies and priorities for the upcoming year. It should definitely be a two-sided conversation about how you can collaborate and work together to secure more business as a team. We are launching some new Office 365 management and reporting SaaS products and features soon, so it’s essential for our partners to have an opportunity to come and hear it here first. In Booth #723 we have ‘talk zones’ with comfortable seating, so we can offer the opportunity to come over and chat about Office 365 and our solutions. If you want to pop in for a 5-minute crash course on Quadrotech solutions or maybe a longer consultation on how to improve your customers’ business processes, book here now or through the MyInspire tool. We’re excited to talk to partners, existing and new, about their goals for FY’19 and how we can work together to achieve them.
Don’t miss the Corenotes!
Each day at Inspire, Microsoft executives will be presenting ‘Corenotes’ that give partners a preview of Microsoft’s priorities and vision for FY’19. Last year at Microsoft Inspire, the One Commercial Partner (OCP) program was announced. Don’t miss this year’s announcements – Gavriella Schuster, Corporate Vice President, One Commercial Partner, recently posted a blog that includes the Microsoft Inspire Corenotes line-up. These presentations will offer valuable insights that will help you align your own strategies with Microsoft and the greater partner community.
So now we’ve given you the lowdown on everything you need to know for when you’re at and preparing for Inspire 2018. Check out Part 2 of the blog which tells you a bit more about the Mandalay Resort and Vegas baby!
