However, cloud environments can pose unique, problematic management challenges because of the many counterparts in the ecosystem, that as a customer, you can’t control. What you need to know about Dubai
Here are some important words to learn in Arabic to impress the locals.
Hello – As-salam alaykom
Goodbye – Ma’assalama
Thank you – Shukran
You’re welcome – A’afwan
Where to eat and visit in Dubai
Dubai attracts expats and visitors from all over the world, meaning you are spoilt for choice with the many cuisines on offer, you can expect anything from roast dinners, to curries and sushi.
Hot and cold mezzes are traditional dishes in Arabic countries. They include a selection of middle-eastern favorites such as; hummus, moutabel, manakish, fatayer and falafel. If you want to experience the best of Mezze, I recommend Chandelier Restaurant in Dubai Marina if you want some delicious local food with great views.
If you’re staying in Dubai for the Friday, the perfect way to unwind after a busy few days at Ignite is a ‘Brunch’. Unlike most traditional brunches, the ones in Dubai last four whole hours, and in this time, you can enjoy unlimited food and drink. Most restaurants hosting brunch will serve a selection of cuisines from around the world so there is something there for everyone. You and your team can feast on this whilst in awe of the live cooking stations and entertainment. Most places will put on a spectacular show of live acrobats, dancers, music and more. One reportedly even has a Playstation room!
This is one of Dubai’s most popular attractions and is located on Burj Khalifa Lake in Downtown Dubai. It is the world’s largest choreographed fountain show which includes water, music, and light. It’s a real showstopper and not to be missed!
The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building and can be seen from all over the city. The impressive ‘At the Top’ experience allows you to go up the skyscraper to the highest viewing platform which is 555m meters above ground, not for the faint hearted but you can expect a remarkable view.
When viewed from above, the man-made island resembles a palm tree. It is home to apartments, restaurants, and hotels including the famous hotel, Atlantis The Palm. The island has a monorail which transports across the whole of the Palm, which is a great opportunity to get views of the beautiful island and unique-looking hotel. Alternatively, you can enjoy the view and the fresh sea air from one of the many yachts, or my personal favorite, speedboats, which sail around the Palm daily. Or, if you’re an adrenaline-junkie and feeling particularly adventurous after Ignite the Tour, there is an option to skydive over the island (that’s if your company travel insurance covers it 😉).
We’d love to discuss your IT challenges and see how we can help, so please get in touch to book a meeting at the event.
