Celebrating Our Women in Technology pt.2
In Part Two of our blog series celebrating Women in Technology, we interviewed two women from Fargo and asked them why they feel Women in Technology is so important.
In Part 3 of our Celebrating Women in Technology series, our Microsoft Strategic Alliance Director, Steph Eddy, shares her experiences of the WIT community. Steph was initially inspired to join WIT when one of her mentors started the Fargo chapter; she knew right away it was a no-brainer to participate because of the passion she saw in driving positive change for women in her area.
Now, Steph holds a role as Vice President of IAMCP, and she works closely with the WIT board. She actively takes part in organizing events and funding for the WIT group in Fargo, to encourage industry-wide networking. Bringing together like-minded individuals in a tough industry is beneficial and offers a sense of community to women in these roles. She jokes that the best thing about being a woman in technology is there’s “no queue for the bathroom”, but it’s a sad realization that there’s a disproportionately low number of women working in tech, which has inspired her to empower bright women and encourage them to feel comfortable in this field.
One of the initiatives Steph has introduced to Quadrotech is the ‘Quadrowomen’ Teams channel, which has been hugely successful and has even seen ‘Quadromen’ asking to join because they want to learn more and open doors for their daughters interested in careers in tech. You can read more about this in part 1.
As mentioned previously, we are always looking for smart, dynamic people to join our company. At Quadrotech, we are passionate about our people, whether you’re technically-minded and interested in joining our Software or Support teams, or perhaps your skills are more suited to the commercial side of our business. Whatever the position, you’ll be joining the market-leader for Office 365 migration and management solutions.
