During the lifecycle of your Enterprise Vault (EV) implementation the underlying storage platform may change. Storage products may be swapped out, they may reach end-of-life, or be replaced as part of an overall IT infrastructure review.
EV StorageMigrator allows these changes to be made simply and easily and without disruption to the organization, and is an economical solution when only the storage platform is affected. For example, when a straight replacement of EMC Centera with a NetApp solution is planned then the extended capabilities of a product like ArchiveShuttle are not really required, and EV StorageMigrator is a better solution.
Rather than the full functionality of an ArchiveShuttle solution, EV StorageMigrator is only designed to migrate from EV to EV. User reorganization and selective filtering is not included, and the product is limited to a single Vault site.
Apart from these restrictions, huge volumes of data can be transferred and managed, while users enjoy uninterrupted and seamless access to their data. EV storage migration is easy to use, with extensive workflows to automate the extraction and ingestion data while eliminating risk though backups and data integrity checks throughout the process.
Quadrotech EV StorageMigrator and archive migration tools migrate mail and journal archives (preserving envelope data) from one EV store to another.
EV StorageMigrator is built around a coordinated peer-to-peer architecture, where a core server is responsible for coordinating the workflow between agents that do the heavy lifting. This enables a scalable, multithreaded approach where the core never becomes a bottleneck and peer agents can be spun up according to the workload.
